Introductory Rag Rug Kit
Our classic Starter Kit is perfect for rag rug beginners or just as a refresher for those who've done the craft before. It includes all the basic rag rug tools and instructions so you're ready to get started almost straight away - all you need to do is to source the fabric (which is the fun part). All our tools have been quality checked by yours truly and are the same tools we use to make all our Ragged Life products - so you can rest assured that you're getting what the experts use. Fabric-wise, anything can be used... t-shirts, fabric offcuts, cotton, fleece, silk... you name it, we've used it! This kit has been featured in a number of the top lifestyle and craft magazines, including Mollie Makes, Simply Sewing, Homemaker Magazine & Hertfordshire Life. It's even been featured on TV! It's the perfect gift for the crafters in your life.
Our Deluxe Kit has the same quality tools and instructions as our Starter Kit but includes a pair of our wonderfully sharp Ragged Life Rag Rug Scissors. These scissors have been designed specifically for preparing fabric for rag rugging and make the cutting of material an absolute dream. They can cut through multiple layers of thick fabric at a time and don't blunt as quickly as conventional scissors. If you're umming and ahhing whether it's worth the extra £8 then bite the bullet - I promise you won't regret it.
Rag Rug Cushion Kit
Rag rug cushions make a great first project for any rag rug beginner. They're small enough that they don't seem too daunting for someone who has never done the craft before but are large enough that after finishing one, you can feel confident embarking on a number of different projects. Our kit includes all the basic tools and instructions so you're ready to get rag rugging straight away. All you need to source is a pair of fabric scissors and the fabric (which is the fun part). Fabric-wise, anything can be used... t-shirts, fabric offcuts, cotton, fleece, silk... you name it, we've used it! You can rag rug your cushion using either of the two rag rugging techniques (loopy or shaggy), or even using a combination of the two so you can really let your creative juices flow with this project. We recommend adding an extra hemmed cushion hessian to your order (for only £2 extra) when checking out as you'll almost certainly catch the rag rug bug and want to make a second cushion to match your first.
Rag Rug Wreath Kit
There's something so jolly about seeing handmade wreaths pop up around Christmas and we think few look lovelier than the rag rug ones. With our Rag Rug Wreath Kit, you can make a personalised rag rug wreath from start to finish in less than a day. Not only does our kit include all the basic rag rug tools and instructions, but it also includes a rigid wreath mount and simple assembly instructions for ease of use. All you need to source is a pair of fabric scissors, a staple gun and some fabric (of which anything can be used... t-shirts, fabric offcuts, cotton, fleece, silk etc...) to get going. This is a great project for using up fabric offcuts and learning the shaggy rag rugging technique.
If you've always wanted to try rag rugging but weren't sure where to start, a rag rug shopping bag is a great first project to try. You can rag rug as much or as little of the bag as you would like which means you can complete a simple design in less than an hour. This kit includes all the rag rug tools and instructions you need to start straight away. All you need to find is a pair of fabric scissors and some fabric. If you're looking for inspiration, we've even included two simple designs to start you off. As with all our kits, the tools inside are exactly the ones we use to make all our Ragged Life pieces so you can rest assured that you're using what the experts use.
